Lady Bird Bourbon
Line up early, folks: The newest masterpiece from Garrison Brothers releases May 6.
Dan Garrison and his Master Distiller Donnis Todd are back this season with another special edition HoneyDew bourbon, this time aged in XO cognac barrels (for the unitiated: “XO” means extra old).
Releasing at Garrison Brothers’ distiller in Hye on May 6, Lady Bird Bourbon is cask-strength, bottled at 114 proof. Expect a complex, unparalelled blend of honey and cognac, the result of 4-5 year old aged bourbon that rested an additional 9 months with honey infused oak cubes, then transferred to cognac barrels to age another 3 years. Masterful.
A nice touch: $5 from every purchase of these $180 bottles is donated to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Line up early on May 6 for the 8 am release. But! The distillery has requested no overnight camping and, believe it or not, no helicopter arrivals. Yes, that happened.
